#StPatrickContest Connemara Cottage
Deep in the Irish countryside sits this single storey stone cottage, so typical of dwellings in this vicinity. Outside modest and unremarkable but inside a surprising mix of classic furnishing, bold floral wallpapers and a whole lot of green. Ireland is called the emerald Isle and this interior celebrates greens in all its guises. Happy St Patricks day. This low lying cottage consists of a kitchen & a lounge-dining room sharing a small walled terrace area. A central hallway zigzags dissecting the property and leads through to a bedroom /bathroom and also a covered terrace area. Each room is a celebration of green and how varied and beautiful it is.
Set in beautiful lush gardens is this creeper covered property. Nestled amongst the trees the stone building is almost camouflaged by nature, its footprint blending harmoniously with its surroundings.
Perfect suntrap spot for a semi alfresco lunch.
The property is a rustic stone build and the owner is a budding horticulturalist.
White furnishings, glazed tiled flooring and a multiple of green house plants, this simple kitchen with its sliding doors has a small walled terrace area to one side.
sands of time...accents of stainless steel, pristine white furnishings and Celtic knot patterned wallpaper.
Clean whites, fresh foliage and a touch of silvery grey.
Deep Emerald greens, soft powder pink and tactile velvets set the tone for comfort as well as a timeless classic feel in the sitting area.
Dining area to one side of the room seats 6... and is set between leaded windows with views across the gardens.
The central marble fireplace, a focal point and a necessity for the chilly Irish Winters.
Beautiful painting of the Irish coastline dominants a section of the room.
Rich velvet fabric enhances this handsome classic chair.
The bedroom greens are a mix of citrus limes teamed up with luxury silk bedlinens and subtle plaid carpeting.
The narrow hallway snakes through the centre of building. Bespoke delicate green floral wallpaper and silvery grey and green furnishings set the subtle tones.
The small walled outside area is the perfect spot to relax in this double swing seat.
This area leads directly into the kitchen or hallway.
Leafy multi green wallpaper, mint roll top bath and coordinated accessories.
Although compact this bathroom still has enough space to offer the choice of bath or shower options.
Marvellous

Oh what a beautiful burst of green! So refreshing and serene. You transported us right to the Irish countryside with the thoughtful details inside and outside of your cottage. I loved, loved the bedroom with the gorgeous bedding, and the living room is so fabulous - with velvets, that sofa and ottoman, the Roman shades, and pretty dining area. Wonderful entry for St. Patrick's Day!

Oh Karen what a delight it was to tour this gorgeous and quaint Irish cottage with you!! Love the setting in the gardens and the overgrown walls! Loved the under roof patio with the lovely garden views! I was blown over by the living and dining room with it's deep deep greens and the smallest touch of pink and how well they all played together with the crisp white! This is so well done and a real celebration of greens!!
