Summer house, summer vibes!
This house is all about summer vacation and good weather! It's about outdoor/indoor living, but outdoor mostly! It's about views and to see how far can your eye see...and then to behold all that beauty! It's about sitting back and relax and letting your body finds it balance again! The interior focused on wide spaces and they opted to keep the walls white with a very natural wood finish on some feature walls. The use of color was spark joy...therefore happy colors used. They also focused on letting the negative space talk it's own language of peaceful serenity.
The floor plan consist of two sleeping wings, one on top of the other, and two interior living spaces. open plan kitchen and cloak room. But the main event of the house is the vast and well planned exterior living areas which was planned to make use of every inch of the spectacular view.
This is the top floor bedroom. Second bedroom, but not second in size or function. Like the master bedroom downstairs it has a sitting area in the room with a television for catching up on entertainment. There is a dressing room like a little clothing store room available in the room.
The color scheme was made up of shades of green and blue and the pop of yellow or coral. Natural wood was used to do built in shelves and to frame some of the walls. And yes....a ceiling fan was fitted for that long hot summer nights.
The soft toned natural wood was used to do built in shelves. They chose to stay with linear straight lines on that and it was fitted with light strips. Also from this angle one can see into the storage closet.
The use of art in this house was on the minimalist side and therefore the pieces that was used had real presence and on the bigger scale.
Mood lighting!
This is the paved pathway that leads you into the front garden and to the front door. And as you can see the view is just beyond the walls....ready to be enjoyed, as you will discover when you continue the journey.
This is the exterior of the house showing it's double story and big window aspects. The garden on the front is small, but lush!
Floor to ceiling windows on the upstairs lounge....and seemingly no need for curtains!
This is a potting area on the downstairs deck and just outside the kitchen door. It's summer! Time for new seedlings to get into soil!
The lower deck is vast and was divided into several areas as you will discover on this house tour. Each with it's own function and attraction. Seen here is a big dining table and chairs for dining and all!
In the middle area was this raised pool fitted and of course the hangout place for the whole season.
Pavilion steps up to the cool waters of the pool!
On the opposite side of the deck than the dining area, is this seating area with the widest view out on the lake! On the edge this glass railing was fitted for safety, but also with glass for ultimate visibility.
Tucked in a corner on the far side of the house is the sunny green spot for sitting and reading or just daydreaming.
In this house there's not only the downstairs deck, which already had a good view, there's also this upstairs deck area. Which makes it so desirable for two couples to share the house. The color scheme out on the deck and inside in the lounge is happy green and sunny yellow.
This is the view from the top deck down on the bottom deck and wayyyy down into the lake beyond! This is summer living, the good life!
The lush front garden, just big enough to provide a little shelter from the outside and a love green spot to sit and meditate on life.
The front façade of the house where full height columns were used to create interest and extra street appeal. They used a combination of a face brick rough plaster effect.
Another picture of the kitchen garden/potting area. They used corner windows on each side of the living room and kitchen to maximize the view and to bring in as much light as possible into the spaces.
Another view of the big dining table....and to show of the gorgeous terrarium planters and the first blooms of the season. Also take note of the big corner windows that was fitted on the house. The clear glass is almost invisible to the eye. True outdoor indoor living.
In this picture is the exterior layout of the two decks visible. And of course the impact of the two corner windows on each side.
It's summer! The sun is high and the beer is cold! Crisp white and the colors of summer: lime, cantaloupe and watermelon!
See the impact of the big, clear glass windows....and how the inside flows to the outside....
Top deck.....and views forever!
This is inside the little clothing storage/dressing room in the top bedroom.
This is the master bathroom and dressing room area. It flows from the bedroom and into each other. On the wall the powerful effect of mirrored walls was demonstrated....and not just in this room. The soft colored natural wood walls was paired with a mosaic wall made up from shades of blue.
Double vanity......
Moon light shining over good bath spa products.
This is the main bedroom with its natural wooden walls and built in shelves. They kept the style of the built ins the same for both bedrooms.
The color scheme for the main bedroom was used in the greens, blues and a touch of coral. Seating area in the bedroom.
Through the window is the view out into the lush little front garden.
And as said before was the use of art sparse, but in a big scale.
The colors and textures of the bed playing together.
In the built ins in the bedroom a television was fitted.
This is the top floor lounge with direct access to the top deck and with wide views out on the lake to the other side.
The colors of summer!
In this picture the staircase is coming up from the side and in front the doors of the bedroom and bathroom. They opted to use white in different tones throughout the house on walls and furniture as a neutral.
Views.....going into sundowner time......
In the upstairs lounge they also had a corner available where they fitted a small kitchenette for the bare basics of making coffee of preparing breakfast.
Upstairs bathroom. Clean, white, simple. Shower was fitted over the soaker tub. Natural wood and marble tiles and mirror on the wall....
What is real and what is just a reflection? the magic of a mirrored wall.Fro
From the entrance, a wide hallway leads into the living room. They used a concrete floor seamlessly throughout the whole house and in here are the use of white and the effectiveness of negative spaces visible.
The entrance and staircase area. Leading to the master bedroom on one side and the living room on the other side. The stairs were kept simple and linear and white.
In the living room this huge white sofa was fitted in the corner by the window. The colors of summer as the owners see it, displayed on the sofa.
This is the storage unit that was custom fitted under the staircase. They used a matt aluminum and thick glass shelves.
How do you like your room? White with a splash of color, thanks!
The hallway as seen from the bedroom side, looking towards the living room.
The art on the wall was the inspiration of the whole color scheme and they loved it!
In the living room, the outdoors is always there just for the taking. If not gazing out through the windows, open the doors and let the fresh air in or stroll outside and go find your favorite spot.
On the dining table a simple meal of fresh salad, bread and preserves was laid out.
The kitchen units was custom fitted and with an island unit that was designed especially for this family's needs to cook and eat together.
The family loves to have their meals in an informal style......
The fireplace in the picture is double sided and was fitted in the middle of the kitchen and living room, giving it access from spaces.
This is the kitchen window, but not the regular kitchen window. It's mostly the domain of Sofia the cat. The queen of the castle!
The cloak room leads off the hallway near the living room and very convenient for visitors.
And again the magic of a mirrored wall doubling the size of the small space.
Oh Ran, coming from you it's the biggest compliment!! I'm always a fan of your magnificent outdoor projects. I still want a Master class from you! Thanks so much!

Each week your interiors continue to bewilder my senses with their complexity of build and sheer professional appearance... but this week somehow Hester this home elevated the standards to a whole new level. This ABSOUTELY GORGEOUS property shone as brightly as the sun that beamed down upon it.... please don't ask me to choose one room over another as everywhere just looked exceptional. I loved the navy accents against the white and i must give a shout out to the delightful and totally unexpected potting corner..... so very cute. This interior was like the most beautiful vacation home you could never afford to rent.... but wishing the whole summertime that you could.!!!

Ohh Hester!! What can I say about this house except it is absolute perfection!! What a dream home! The exterior shots had me gasping, and then when I got inside - more wow!! I love the corner windows with the white sofa, the beautiful pillow selections throughout, the gorgeous outdoor areas, and the entire home -inside and out- compliments its to-die-for surroundings.
