urban flat
This project started out as just practice. I played around with several different designs. After a few months of adjustments and revising. I ended up with a project that I was proud of and wanted to share. As you look through the photos, you'll note the urban/modern style that I chose to go with.
This is divided up into an apartment style home in the city
This is a half bathroom off the kitchen. I added a fun tile as the flooring and used white brick on the walls to give a modern flare. I wanted to keep this space simple and spacious since this would be the restroom guests would use most frequently.
A wall mounted sink in the main bathroom also helps to give the feeling of more space by being less bulky ,and also adds a modern touch.
I added a large shower to the main bathroom, but even in the small space the bathroom still feels spacious. I also kept this bathroom simple to promote the feeling of spaciousness.
The bookshelf on the wall adds storage space but still looks modern.
The leather couch and chair are modern and sleek and flow with the style of the house. I added a large portrait above the couch to keep the wall decorations simple. I added lots of plants in the room to give a natural, neutral feel and subtle color.

The living room is the first impression when you walk into the apartment, so I kept the colors neutral and left the windows with no shades to let in lots of natural light.
The modernity continues in the kitchen with a touch-screen refrigerator.
You can fit a table of six in the dining area and as you can see to the left, there is a built in oven and microwave with more storage space.
Here is a small space when entering the kitchen that can be used as a place for a china cabinet, extra storage, or a decorative set up.

The kitchen and dining room is very spacious. The kitchen has sleek, modern cabinets and lots of storage space. The white/grey tile on the walls contrasts nicely with the white cabinets and marble counter-tops. The built in wall oven gives more counter space next to the cooking range.
The bedroom is very spacious and I wanted to make this feel a bit more cozy so I added a seating area, a bench, and a standing mirror to fill the space. There is still plenty of room to move around but it is not so open and empty feeling.

Black seems to be a color of modernity, so I themed this room in the color. I added some black and white pattered wallpaper to give a fun flare. The minimalist decorations fill the space up nicely but keep it simple.
