Tropical Serenity
This project stemmed from a wish to create a home that would exude a soothing aura, a space that would be one with its outdoor surroundings. The house has been designed to allow as much natural light as possible to come in. Each room gives off a different ambience. The house, located in the tropical heaven of Coorg in Karnataka, India, has a spacious living room, a kitchen and dining area and bathroom connected to the bedroom. Apart from the basics, it has a library, an inner courtyard and a terrace that offers a beautiful view of the woods in the distance.

I divided the different areas in the house in such a way that all of them are connected with each other seamlessly. Less doors and more open areas make the rooms feel interconnected yet separate and unique in their own ways.

The bedroom has been designed in a way that allows maximum sunlight to enter and also makes it look more spacious than it is.
Living and Dining Room
The living room embodies wabi-sabi design and incorporates oriental themes. It is connected to a common courtyard with bamboo and other tropical plants, and the open corridor through the courtyard leads to the library.
The dining table, located in the kitchen itself, is a cozy corner where one can enjoy quiet meals and exchange stories about the day.
Library
The library is by far my most favourite part of the house. It's located in a corner of the entire house plan so that you can enjoy a peaceful read - away from the main part of the house yet just a few steps away.
