Try "Material brush" on the top navigation bar, which is much convenient!

Hi, when you drag and drop furniture into the design, you could always use "CTRL" button to disable the auto snapping. So you could use press the direction arrow while holing Ctrl button.

If you want a "real" mirror, a particular one, I suggest to make a wall opening. You then can close behind the mirror using the customize tool.

Try using the Customize tool to draw your mirror at the wall of the niche. It's the only way to put a different material inside the niche.
