KEEP IT MINIMALIST
With sloping ceilings being a big factor in a loft bedroom layout, it’s easy for them to end up feeling boxed in and claustrophobic. Keep to the mantra of ‘a little goes a long way’ with these kinds of spaces. Take a more minimalistic approach to styling your loft bedroom, adding pieces in mindfully, thinking about what’s essential and what’s not.
This goes double for smaller loft spaces with less room to work with. If you’re fighting for every millimetre of space, keep decor to an absolute minimum. It could be as simple as adding a statement lamp to a bedside table, or if you’re really strapped for space, try adding artwork to your walls to work in some visual interest.
MAXIMISE YOUR NATURAL LIGHT
Most loft bedrooms have the benefit of being able to capitalise on a lot of natural light. If you’re fortunate enough to have Velux skylights or some big floor-to-ceiling windows, you’re already easily on-track to having the perfect chilled-out loft bedroom.
But if you’ve got smaller windows, you might find switching up your curtains gets more sunlight into your space.
