Yet He wants us to know Him and to come into a happy relationship with Him. That is why He has revealed Himself in the Bible. When we read this book, we learn who God is. In today’s Bible passage we find three statements about Him: He is the only God. In the religions of the world there are many gods. They all originated from human ideas. But the true God says, “There is none besides Me.” He alone should be given divine worship by men.He is a just God. He never acts in a biased manner, He never judges unfairly, and His standard of good and evil never changes. In Romans 3:12, He pronounces His righteous judgment on humanity: “They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one.” As a result, all deserve His punishment.He is a saving God. Because He doesn’t want people to be eternally lost because of their sins, He sent His own Son to earth as Saviour. The Son of God became man to die on the cross for lost sinners. Now, through the gospel, God invites everyone personally to “believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). Those who take this step of faith are reconciled with God.
