Orbit house
Imagine in the future living in a house floating in the airspace over the city. Imagine it being connected to each other or to any other location by a tunnel that takes you to your destination. Imagine the house being manufactured completely out of a lightweight steel that was designed and manufactured from waste material and has all the proper characteristics built in to survive in the ever changing climate and world conditions. The house was fitted with the necessary air and heat controls and the latest technology to make it not only functional but comfortable also for the inhabitants. The house was designed using the shape of a satellite as inspiration.
Steel and glass and polished acrylic was used as the main materials.
Two bedrooms, two bathrooms and open plan living area.
In the main bedroom where the steel and glass was paired with the softness of upholstery and the bright pops of yellow and teal.
Big, soft and comfortable.......like floating on a cloud!
The bedroom flows into a big dressing area with ample storage. From the dressing area the room flows into the en suite bathroom.
This is the entrance of the house from the walkway where it's floating in the airwaves over the city. On the wall the door control and energy control are visible. It's important to keep the energy flow constant and regulated and the building air tight at all times.
The elegance of steel and glass with a whimsey of eccentricity.
Bookshelves and a small reading corner by the front door
This is a little corner just outside the main bedroom and leading the eye to the main living area.
This is the pod! Upbeat and calling for you to enter and flop down! In this pod anything can happen from watching telly, doing social media, work, play, eat, relax, sleep......
The pillows was chosen to add a little whimsey to the mostly modern and elegant style that was maintained throughout the house. They are so much fun!!
This area is in front of the pod and can use as part of the conversation area in the pod, or turned around and connecting to the kitchen and dining area. Also see the column that was designed to do heating and cooling. They were spread in different areas in the open plan room.
The kitchen counter was finished in a high gloss acrylic and designed in an interesting shape to add some separation but also makes it highly functional for seating, eating and preparation.
On the one side of the kitchen there was a proper wine fridge installed and on that side the counter also acts as a bar counter. The house was fitted out with a robotic cleaning system which docks itself. Who can spot that?
This is the view from the dining table into the glass cubicle that forms a balcony into the lovely sky over the city!
A touch of blue is what you'll find in all the rooms......alongside all the steel and glass.
This area is a raised seating area looking out into the city. Just relaxing and having a small one while trying to make sense of the future!
Pops of color were used to break up the stark steel surfaces.
This is the second bedroom welcoming you in. The room is a spacious double room and styled with the same 'elegance with a touch of whimsy' like in all the other rooms. Make yourself at home!
This is the second bathroom adjacent to the second bedroom but with it's own entrance to make it available for guests also.
Taking a bath on top of the city.......
The ambience of the master bathroom is deep and dark and oh so elegant!! No bath, but a climate controlled spa and shower! Enjoy!!
Linger as long as you want to.....time is no limit here....we are in the future.....
